[ paper bag ]

i carefully took
my paper bag that kept
my dreams so tight
and held it inbetween my fingertips
holding it right in front of my eyes
turned the paper bag upside-down
and spilled my dreams on the floor
and i watched them scatter and shimmer
and become lost in the dark
that surrounded and
swallowed me whole.
