Walking a mile in my footsteps.

It’s going to be one of those ultra busy days here in paradise. The smoke from the fire mop-up still fills the air. I’ll try not to run as I move on about my life. I have to walk if I want to keep this cranky leg, so I’m out there slowly marching a mile before showering.

There’s a memorial service for the magically delightful, exceptional, flambouyant, lady with pazazz who was a member of my writing group. I’ll be there suited up, G maybe in tow if he wants to suffer another memorial service so soon after the last one. He didn’t know this effervescent woman, so attendance is optional for this kind man.

Dinner with Duck. We finally convinced him to stop chopping up unwanted belongings. Yes, he used to chop up chairs, tables, any old thing he didn’t need, and toss them down his trash chute. Now he is recycling things, but giving them to us to recycle. We can do this. We will find someone who will want a new IKEA white chair and ottoman. Somewhere. Somehow……but tomorrow.

And laundry.
And dishes.
And delight and laughter and dancing with frogs in the dew of ages too.
Gotta keep that imagination moving right along.

That trainee came home after work and told my daughter I was crazy.
Now my family has known this for years. No problem. All I did was use humorous scenarios to train this new yard person. Gotta keep things lively…..for this is the deadliest job I know as it almost beats counting money for the feds or being a file clerk for some nameless insurance company.

So I would leap out from corners and odd places with my driver’s license in hand to yell, “You stole my car!!!”

She would have to do her spiel, fill out the invoice, and smile, smile, smile. No wonder she thought I was crazy. Then again, she was doing everything quite well by the end of the day. She’s a keeper.

I’ll be a keeper if I can remember to step beyond the priggish and keep a fragment of flambouancy in my life. Yes, I will.

Yes, you definitely are a keeper. And I bet that she will bless you for your flamboyant training when some crazy does the same thing to her for real! xoxo

I bet she learned so much better for your craziness today! You are a delight, and a keeper beyond question.

Sounds like you have a great sense of humour.

November 8, 2003

Yep, you are most certainly a keeper.

Personally, I think she’s the crazy one. Who wouldn’t be amused & enlightened by a teacher with pizzazz? Only a crazy lady, that’s who.

:::looks around::: Hi Georgette! hmm… I see a few familiar names here. I love the pic on your contents page, is it one you took? Perusing past entries I’m guessing you live south of LA? I also see you once suffered loss from a fire in your home. How tragic when somehting like that happens. I have a good friend who was spared the loss of her home in the recent fires, (c)

but she lost the garage and everything in it. When I have a bit more time I’ll post a couple shots of that. Anyhoo, wanted to thank you for the kind words left at my pic journal 🙂 I’ve chosen no notes there simply because it gives me more of a sense of freedom in my posting, the chatter box seems to work well. Will be back poking my head in here every once and a while~

RYN: I’m also in San Diego, although live more in the east county. Buried my dad at Ft. Rosecrans couple years ago; “In flight” and “Busy weekend” at the pic journal were taken from Shelter Island! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
