Reading….

I come home from the library with these nice juicy piles of books then life interrupts. Last week the new Anne Perry, A Christmas Journey took me away from my pile, and this week, the SiFi Book Club sent the newest McCaffrey. That was the end of me.

Here we have real rain. Amazing stuff, rain in the desert. I’m one of those who don’t exercise in the rain. I hated wet glasses when I taught swimming, and I hate wet glasses when I walk in the rain. A good book is always the answer to all this resistance…and McCaffrey won out over all those nice things just waiting over there for me to open them and vanish into their realities.

At the risk of appearing as shallow as I really am, I post my current reading lists.

Reading down the list:

Dragon’s Kin, Anne McCaffrey and Todd McCaffrey

An Eye For Gold, Sarah Andrews

Covering Catastrophe, Broadcast Journalists Report September 11, Edited by Glibert, Hirschkorn, Murphy, Walensky, and Stephens

Sisters of the Raven, Barbara Hambly

Whose Little Girl are You? Bethany Campbell

Islands of Silence, Martin Booth

Lost Angeles, Fodor’s 2003

Ship Picture of the day

Oh how is the McCaffrey? I love her books, she hooked me young as all get out. Nice list. I had that problem with glasses in the rain until I started wearing baseball caps.

I see a lot of reading in my future when I’m working at the mall-what a treat! I’m glad you’re taking time for yourself to read. xoxo

I want to read! And I could, too, except for that damned job thing. What’s up with that, anyway? Whose idea was working for a living? We have only drizzle here. Also not conducive to exercise. But far too conducive to crackers with soft cheese and olive tapenade.

Thanks for the list of books — I’ve not heard of any of the authors so must do some research on them. I’m still working my way through Harry Potter. I checked out the ship photo — one look at the QEII and my heart jumped — oh, to be a passenger on that ship, going to anywhere as long as it took me away from here. Can’t wait until our trip to England next year. Thanks for the smile. Tehachap

Dragons Kin! Isn’t it great to think that more dragonrider stories are coming. I’ve always loved the way Anne does relationships. She can make you really care. The worst part of some of her collaberations was that they weakened her characters and their relationships. Todd seems to have the talent. Years of dragonriders – Hurrah!
