Place Holder

That’s me, a social butterfly. I was just complaining about being overworked with the eternal dust bunnies of housewifery, when social engagements began to roll in.

As the golden rays of the sun sneak through the black clouds left over from last night’s storm, I peek at Norton. Nothing new. I can’t keep my Norton live and come to OD at the same time. Something about the cookies. I don’t open attachments at all, but the viri sneak in despite my draconian measures. Since they aren’t targeted to my programs, even if I have them they will not open. And, I find, since they don’t open they don’t go out with the email. Hurrah.

The living room looks dramatic in red, whites and wood. There’s a decorating gap over in front of the bookcase tho. A hole. That hole throws the composition of the room off and leaves the artist in me muttering. G says it is just the right size for a merry-go-round horse. The problem is, we don’t have one. At least the room is really clean, and by dinner time I had all the orts and detritus in order and put away before I had a fit and ate five See’s soft centered candies. You bet I’m in trouble again.

Now today, walk, shower, bank, gas, add that stuff so Grumpy will run, then lunch with my traveling friend out from Ohio to fix her La Jolla furnace. Tomorrow will be class, nap, and orientation with the guard card class afterwards until an awfully late hour. Thursday and Friday are mine and I can probably finish the house in those two days, then Saturday is G’s and N’s birthday party with four of the G’kids in Disneyland. We made this arrangement to meet with them before I quit my job, and we are going anyway.

Somewhere in there, before a delightful lunch with Carrie, I will have to start back to work again. Ah, reality. Housewifery and freedom are growing short. Book editing time is growing even shorter. Laughter at oneself is always the best revenge.

Laughter at oneself is the best medicine! LOL! I’ve been struggling with sugar lately myself. Oh crap, I am so tired of always having to fight my urges.

Georgette, your note regarding Savanah’s hair was a stroke of brilliance!

from the traveling ohio friend…looking forward to your “journey” disclosed face to face today. My travels may seem exotic…but, reading the latest entries are every bit as much a delight as foreign landscapes…see you soon, san diego friend

It seems you’ve got a lot of fine things coming up. Work is a necessary evil. Speaking of which, I’d better get to it, like now! Hug.

Sees. Ack, my downfall are the scotchmallows. Oh ok, and the almond caramel chews. Uh, and the truffles. The toffee-etts, California Brittle and Dark Chocolate Bordeaux. LOL! Costco sells gift certificates for Sees, I try not to buy them. Are we really going to get as much rain as predicted? After last night’s downpour it’s cool and sunny, although some threatening clouds still out there~

When you mentioned your “decorating hole,” I envisioned a tall plant for it — life and balance……because that’s what it’s all about! Your plate is full; this is a blessing, Georgette. Enjoy!

Ah, routine — nothing like it to make the days whirl by… Happy Birthday to G–my own sweet DH’s b’day is on the 8th with elder son and new step-grandson’s to follow. A good month for birthdays!! tehachap

Virus attacks seem to be directed at Bill Gates’ Microsoft PC Empire. Have heard many others comment about it. This is my third iMac. With an estimated 6000 hours minmum online there hasn’t been a single virus attack. Don’t have or need virus software.

Hey there you! You sound great – a good thing 🙂 “Laughter at oneself is always the best revenge.”…very wise words indeedy my friend! Warm Smiles……..

Being able to laugh at oneself is indeed healthy, though (and don’t tell anyone) I wickedly prefer to people watch downtown…and laugh at the odd behavior of pedestrians.

It is good to laugh at oneself. It reminds one not to take themselves, or anything else, for that matter, too seriously. 🙂

Laughter is wonderful : )

Perhaps the Feng Shui book can offer an alternative idea to the horse! Although I know a great place where you can find custom made carousel horses….((Carrie))
