Making the Day

1984: Year two

Spring is sprung, there are blue skies up there, and I have seven days of slept-by work to do. Tomorrow there may be rain under the upcoming grey, but today I am diving right back into life again. Im going to make today fun.

Sheets have been popped into the laundry, phone calls have been made, and there is email to answer when a little more dust has been moved around. Then again, it is the day G and I were married and we are going out to celebrate. Its not the day we metthe one we actually celebrate as our anniversary. We were married seven years ago, yet we have been together 21 years this year. Its kind of fun to have two anniversaries to celebrate each year.

Not everything has been beer and skittles. Then again, perhaps in the beginning there was too much beerinfluenced behavior, that is. Perhaps too, only stubbornness has kept us together these twenty-one years. Or maybe lots of help. For a marriage is not made in isolationnot if it is made up of two alcoholics.

Things are always changing and nothing is ever perfect. Even today. Yet, my life certainly would be on a different track without my G in it. Without Duck to drag me to my first meeting, I would be dead. Without Ba to reinforce Ducks teaching, I certainly would be dead. Without G to bring me into a more spiritually focused life, I wouldnt be here. So after lots of thank yous, which I say every morning when Im awake, Im off to make today fun.
