Elephants
First class pool entrance.
Ive been struggling with words and images and the creativity to make them work. Some days there is nothing there. I find that more and more, yet not only am I the front man (or woman as this case may be) for a list with several platefuls of stuff in front of it, Ive been trying to write an essay about elephants.
I finished a third more album about the Queen Mary just before the day the QM2 will be christened by the Queen. I wrote one short note to the meeting using someone elses words. There is no essay on elephants at all.
I cant find my elephant, in this a small essay on child abuse using the structure of todays mores versus the mores of yesterday. Maybe I am my own elephant as a result of being someone elses elephant in the kitchen all those years ago. Im grateful today that someone elses words were there to fill in for my lack of a brain today. Maybe that will have to do. Then again, maybe that will do quite nicely.

I’ve been watching the reports on Entertainment Tonight on the QM2. Lots of security around the ship today with the Queen coming to christen her. 🙂

We stayed on the QM for a couple of nights many moons ago (almost 15 years, I think) and saw The Spruce Goose that trip, too. Both were fascinating. Thanks for sharing your photo album here.I’m sorry that you’re struggling with finding the words; the subject matter is understandably difficult.

What a gorgeous pool. I have lived with elephants. I am actually rather relieved to have sent them on their way; although sometimes a new one crops up in some area I haven’t looked at recently … hugs. Thanks for all the wonderful pictures.

sure wouldn’t mind showing up for a dip in that pool this morning.

Those elephants can be pesky things. That sounds like an interesting topic to write about. Good luck. xoxo

I love emty pools. I love empty rooms, the bigger the better. Much space available for a jumble of elephants. I am amazed as I am sure my parents were at the fact that young people function in such a sexualized society.

empty… I am blaming all my typing errors on Mavis now.

I have banned elephants from my home; there is a sign on my door that says, “NO ELEPHANTS ALLOWED.” 🙂

RYN: Doc pronounced my lungs better enough to discontinue the meds. On his trip back home to Great Britian five weeks ago my doc also caught the flu. He asked me if I still cough when the cold (relatively for southern California) air hits my lungs at night. It does for him. He pronounced I’d probably be hacking for another couple of weeks. Ciao,

RYN: “The Man Who Rowed Columbus Ashore” was just the hint of a suggestion of a beginning for a novel written between my 18th and 20th years. Certain things are best left undone. For the learning some projects remain incomplete. Ciao,

Such wonderful pictures. Even the mechanical bowels are artwork. The pool reminds me a bit of the inside one at Hearst Castle. Baby elephants are the world’s most cunning and charming youngsters. We fall in love with them and realize too late that they get bigger. And bigger!
