Easier in the Long Run.

Mr. G slouching with Mr. Lego at Disneyland.

Oh you would have laughed. I did. There was one point when I was bleeding all over the stairs and deep into that fake Christmas tree when I just had to sit down on the stairs and laugh.

It was a very heavy fake Christmas tree.

I am making a concerted effort to lift things he usually would lift. Of course it would be easier if two of us lifted these things, but there is only me. I don’t think that would be very kosher with the Workman’s Comp people if they would see him heaving and hauling various and sundry things up and down stairs. I don’t think they would realize that only one side is kersmash.

“This is really a two people job,” I kept saying out loud.

He managed to make it up the stairs this evening with the sewing machine. I followed close behind goosing him with vitriolic phrases and a finger or two, but he still carried it all the way upstairs.

I did managed to get all the tree trimmings downstairs while dropping only the giant box that holds the glass birds. I broke other ornaments but not birds. I did break the doors on the storage thingy one story above G’s closet. Speaking of bad design. He will now have to go up on a ladder and put those three storage doors back on their tracks. Yes, I feel useless.

I did juggle the big tree enough that most of the lights came on. Did you say short? I am just hoping the lack of lights is due to the fact that the tree came apart while being heaved, hoed, hauled and cursed at up those ladder-like back stairs. Apart in several big pieces in fact.

Maybe I can just nail him to the sofa until he recovers.
Maybe I need to be nailed beside him. It might be easier, cheaper and faster in the long run.

Sometimes I feel like I am nailed to the couch. I know Sarge thinks I am — he told me the other day that he knew I wasn’t dead when I was sick in bed because I am going to die on the couch! Happy Turkey Day!

Brava for all that hard work! With hugs and wishes for deep tissue massage and hot soaks and stuff. Oh, and storage doors that get back on track smoothly and simply. Oh yeah; happy Thanksgiving!

G. even looks sharp when slouching! Happy Thanksgiving, you turkeys! : ) Hugs, Smiles and Love to you both from us both.
