A Vegetative State

One small foray to the corner store for some of those needed bodily maintenance materials was as far from home as I got yesterday. A quick dash…..I was a failure at that. I wrote a check…..I was a failure at that too.

“I said one forty-two,” she said looking at my check then at me as if I were blind, deaf, and unconnected to any reality…which I was.

“Yes, one forty-two,” I replied.

“But you wrote the check for one eighty-two.”

“Just give me the difference,” I said pulling that thought from some deeply buried memory of the days when you got cash back at the grocery store.

She dug out two dimes and handed them to me. As she rummaged in her change drawer, I realized that I couldn’t recognize one sum from another much less one dime from another. I thought that if I couldn’t do this, how was I ever going to cook dinner.

Cooking dinner was an adventure. Broccoli may be a green veggie, but it doesn’t replace peas. Maybe that’s why my soup didn’t look like the picture. Ya think? Corporate is descending on our fair city this morning. G left for work singing. I just have to let all the political intrigues at World go today and focus on reading one word in front of the other.

If I can’t do this, I can snore.

Peace, dear Georgette. This, too, shall pass.

Feel better soon. Hope you’re snoozing in the bath right now. xoxo

RYN: Taking MetroLink is an act of client research. Using any public transportation to get to downtown LA is not much of an advantage. To catch the Blue Line from Long Beach wouldn’t save much money because there is no free parking after driving from Surf City. As for MetroLink I have to drive away from LA in order to get to the stations with free parking. It is interesting, though. Ciao,

Dang. Hugs,

Yikes … Please be careful…just stay put and relax and let the med do their thing… Warm smiles and thoughts……

Those things bug me too–it’s because of a one-track mind. If mind is pondering something else God knows what will happen when another something gets in the picture. An example is going after something in another room. If I stop for anything on the way, what I went after gets lost

Forgot to say that I like your new front page.

daily frustrations take their toll…today a girl kept trying to shove a receipt at me…she got rude…I got defensive….sigh….

Wishing you much better and very soon. Hugs

hope things are feeling better right now…

I think cooking might not be such a good idea until you’re off this medicine. Maybe you should consider having G. call a pizza place or chinese place and have dinner delivered tomorrow. 🙂

I hope today was less foggy for you, Georgette, and that improvement continues for you. It sounds like a good time to keep things as simple as possible.

I guess I need to go take a look at your new front door.. uhh .. page.

Snoring is good… See? You ARE capable of doing something quite well when wiped out on anti-inflammatory meds… truly, take it easy — sleep, snore and in general let the world go by while your body heals. Hugs & love, Tehachap

Snoring sounds so very good to me. And so does your soup. Pictures be damned.
