Who’s Who? … Equal Rights.

This almost seems like its the conversations for the day? Is there a theme of the day or something?

Personally, I have showed pictures (notably wedding pictures) where I explained who is pictured with my "clever" code names for everyone. I put clever in quotes because the names aren’t that witty. LMPisces is a Pisces I worked with at Liberty Mutual. ETaurus or EverythingTaurus is a guy who is up for pretty much anything and a Taurus. He has even agreed to try things that he later reconsidered, such as canoeing with us a few summers back. I feel and think that with the code names its okay for me to describe who is in a REAL picture because the name isn’t. You can’t Google search and find a link between my code name and that person.

Its already apparent to people I consider friends here that there is stuff for public consumption (and I assume Google retrievable) and stuff I prefer to keep private. I am here to express who I really am and I’m not interested in being noted by people or reading entries of people who are fake, lying, or bolstering their personalities artificially. There is a stigma to the internet, though mostly around dating sites that state no one on the internet is who they say they are. Like gossip, I try not to perpetuate that sort of thing.

I’ve been laboring philosophically over the North Carolina amendment. Its amusing to hear all these different opinions on that and then the President saying that he personally supports gays and lesbians getting married. The insecurities of religious people astounds me, and how they can be so judgmental. Their doctorine states that we’re all sinners at conception, so they try to live a RIGHTeous life. However, their insecurities and uncompromising beliefs seek to limit the rights of those who are born differently than what is a social norm.

Though WA has to worry about whether or not they allow the same thing (we already voted in a "anything BUT marriage") type law, but that might get repealed and a similar amendment to Amendment 1 in NC might pass. I really doubt that will happen. There’s that, then we might legalize marijuana (which from the standpoint of revenue, and potentially combating the war on drugs by taking away something consumed so widely [unfortunately], I’d approve… but I’d love to see my mom suffer and criticize people such as myself for voting it down). Boy, us in WA are condemned to hell in the afterlife aren’t we for being so progressive!

It surprises me to this day that gay marriage is still an issue. I just don’t understand what the big deal is. Let them get married! It’s a consentual arrangement between two adults period. If it’s a sin, fine, let THEM deal with it in the afterlife, how in the world would them getting married affect you? If God created mankind, God also created gays. Get over it. Ugh.

It kind of blows my mind, to be honest… It’s been less than 100 years since the Civil Rights movement and the repeal of segregation in this nation, but here we are again, treating an entire portion of our population like second class citizens… Don’t we ever learn? There is no difference between discriminating against someone based on their skin color or their religion or their gender or theirsexuality. This is 2012. Aren’t we suppose to be past bigotry like this…? *shakes my head* Just…sad…

Progressiveness should be applauded rather than condemned by those that have a difficult time thinking for themselves, but of course that would never occur to them.

RYN: I bought the older jersey, the blue one with the white diagnol stripe. You can find those at Ross for $20. The new jerseys are not my fav. They have red and white horizontal stripes, similar to the US flag.

you have a lot of patience lol i like your nicknames for everyone. Which.. i feel brings up myself.. I’m a Libra and a Virgo depending on the year. My birthday is right on the line- September 23. I know what traits both a Libra and Virgo have yet most days I feel like neither. 🙁 I would not vote marijuana legal even though I prefer my hubby to be able to smoke weedwhen he first gets home. He’s so edgy and snappy.. I think it should be like alcohol and a limit put in place. Wow I’m so off topic lol
