Into the Retrograde

I haven’t talked this about as much as I have historically, but Mercury is in retrograde until 08/07. That’s always a time period, especially for Gemini to re anyting: restart, redo, renew, replenish, etc. It hasn’t been notable thus far, but there is some reversion in some ways. Instead of opting to read I’m back to Skyrim. I’m not being very communicative which is bad because I’m BGem’s best man. and I really need to start putting together my simple speech and practice. Its going to be simple, probably one of those "I may be the best man by title today, but really ____ married the best man today…"

I would simply say that because growing up BGem was always a little more grounded, level-headed, and he was smarter and original. He’d come up with a new activity, I would have fresh ideas and then we’d collaborate and have this thing that only the two of us appreciated. Now that he’s found the one for him, which was obvious from day one I’m glad that someone else gets to experience that level of bonding and beyond. (Hmmm… I think that sounds like good speech material)

Twin’s friends who had the 1 year old last year, now have a child that’s 2 and we were there for that party as well. The one childless couple that isn’t related to the family. We helped clean up some with the sentiment that Twin expressed, "We don’t exactly bring extra entertainment so we have to make up for it."

Discussion fell onto the subject that we are somewhere inbetween.

I’m thinking differently now though. We’re really in unprecedented territory. I don’t know what to think about that. That may just be a retrograde fog.

The other thing too was, I asked Twin if we should’ve introduced ourselves to the other friends that came. We weren’t formally introduced, and some of the guys I could’ve added to the conversation or comments they made, but didn’t because I’m just some stranger to them. I thought after we left that maybe I should’ve introduced myself so I felt more comfortable and open, though I wouldn’t have remembered their names (or known their birthday).

Lastly, I determined I’m as shy around adults as I am around kids. I am open when they approach me, but 2 year old kids don’t do that. Kids don’t do that with strange adults when there’s other kids around.

Another retrograde type thing to happen to me is being contacted by a person who I used to have as a friend on here. I haven’t replied to the e-mail yet and probably should, just like I need to tell BGem that Twin’s reunion is the 28th. There is also BGem+ and LG+ who want to go kayaking. It might happen this Friday, but not Saturday. It also can’t be the 28th.

Interesting that the reunion is during a retrograde…

Great observation! 🙂 Things will happen as they should. 🙂

I LOVE introducing myself to people I don’t know!! I’m socially awkward but insanely social nonetheless! Some say it’s the Libra in me! 😀

well depends on where you look. Being born September 23 I’m in the middle of a Libra & Virgo. Some say Virgo, some say Libra. It’s weird.

Your speech sounds right on track. My son, who recently had this same opportunity, was nervous enough to even go so far as to look up online what a best man’s speech should say. I thought that was a little over the top, but in the end he did a pretty good job and I was proud of him.

I am opinionated. So shyness does not apply. But, I am cautious. I like to try to read the room first. Asses if you will the players in the room before i engage. Some times i get it right sometimes i cant wait to get the hell out of there.

RYN: haha I do appreciate your notes b/c it helps me look at things from other perspectives and helps me think. Sometimes I agree and sometimes I dont, but it does help me look deeper into some issues. and really I dont write for praise, and I know my writing does seem shallow, but it does help me look deeper into my thoughts, feelings and progress as a human. lol Thats funny to me, but true.

who’s giving up on a dog? lol Are you talking about my entry how we’re trying to get a babysitter for THOR while we’re gone to Las Vegas for our wedding and honeymoon?

bahahaha Honestly doggy daycare’s cost. I’m assuming a lot. And even though professionally they know everything about dogs, I don’t think they would have a connection that a friend could provide for possibly FREE. If they have a few dogs, how much 1 on 1 would Thor actually get?? Not that he’s high maintenance. All he needs is some cuddles, food and to be let out when he needsto go out. I have a LOT of friends. Most of them are doggy owners so I’m hoping even one of them will come through. This will be the first time in his almost 2 years of life that we’ve ever left him with anyone ..so as crazy as this sounds it’s a little nerve racking. I don’t even let anyone but my Mom watch our children and honestly she’s the only one I want watching Thor. Since she’ll be coming to Vegas with us and then driving with the kids to her house in Arizona, she’s out of the question. :/

Ryn: what about the Seattle bouldering project in Ballard? You could try rock climbing there first… There’s also one in Redmond. You rent all the equipment. See how you like it? It’s pretty fun!!
