State Playoffs and more

so- this past weekend my USTA tennis team was in state playoffs! We did awesome and I’m so proud of us! We made it all the way to the Semi-Finals and put up a great fight! Our singles player won, my doubles team made it to a tie breaker and lost by two points:( and our other doubles team also lost in a tie-breaker (and in this one one of the bitches from the other team totally cheated!). Our matches were over first and we were all watching the final doubles match. In the TIE breaker for STATE, this lady called two of the balls out that were CLEARLY in! I mean, I know it’s a "judgement call" and everything, but this is state and they still don’t provide officials, and it was just very frustrating. But oh well, Karma’s a bitch and they didn’t wind up winning in the finals anyway. But after all is said and done, I am still so proud of our team! In the end, we came in 4th out of 15 in the state- that is pretty impressive! And this was despite the fact that:

* This was our first season together as a team

* we were the only team in the state playoffs that did not use any subs. Alot of the teams had anywhere from 10 -12 girls. We had 5 girls and we each played 5 matches in 3 days.

So it was a great ending to a great season!

And on another tennis note, me and my doubles partner Val (different partner than USTA) just finished up a T2 Tennis season and we won our division! So I’m happy about that as well. I guess I’ve swapped out running for Tennis lately, huh? I love it!

Joe is home after this weekend (hopefully! I haven’t heard from him since Friday when he texted me good luck) and I can’t WAIT to see him!!!!!! I only hope that I’m not jinxing things or gettng too excited. If things change when he gets home, I don’t know how I will take it. Fingers crossed it all works out!
