RIP Stang!
Well, after 11 years and 173,000 miles, my Mustang is officially dead.
It’s a bitter-sweet thing for me. Bitter because I have SO many memories with this car. It was my high school graduation present from my parents and was a great car that saw me through a lot of things. Never had a car payment, insurance was cheap, and I loved it! But…sweet because it was time. It was a long ride…but it was time. And I would have never had the heart to get rid of it, so since it “died” I had no choice. It was going to need a new engine (about $3,000 worth of labor) and was only worth $10000. So the decision was out of my hands…
Now it’s time for a new one! Not sure what yet- but I’m on the search! Luckily it died at the most convenient time. Mom and Dad are gone on a 2 week trip, so mom gave me her car to drive the whole time so that I could have time to look. Best of all- it’s a G35 so I LOVE driving it:)
I managed to sell my “stang” on craigslist (dead…and yes the guy knew all about the damages! But says that the frame is in great shape and that’s all that matters) to a 25 year old guy
(for $500 cash!) from Savannah who apparently fixes up mustangs and intends to turn it into this:
At least it won’t be melted down for parts! 🙂
RIP Stang! Thanks for all the years!!!
Let the car search continue!
Aw, poor Stang. However, 173,000 miles for a Ford is nearly unheard of. That car lived a long and significant life.
