Here We Go Again

So, November 1st. I’m attempting NoJoMo (November Journaling Month) again. In addition to this, I’m trying some other things in my attempt to improve myself. I decided to do this rather than try to fix all my flaws come January 1.

So, I’ll also be doing:

NoFaBoMo: No facebook month. I’m taking 30 days off FB. I spend way too much time on there when I could be doing other, more productive things.

NoSpeMo: No spend month. With the exception of Christmas shopping, groceries and gas I’m going to not buy anything in November that is not a need. This includes books for my Nook….I have enough books to get me through November, but I still love to buy books.

NoCoMo: No complaining/attitude adjustment for 30 days. I tend to be sarcastic and annoyed, seeing the worst rather than the best. For example, Art will clean the kitchen but not empty the dishrack. Instead of complimenting him/thanking him for the kitchen, I’ll complain, "you couldn’t empty the dishrack?!" I want to stop that kind of attitude.

In other news, I have decided to jump in after all and go back to school. I will be starting classwork for my doctorate in January. Am I scared? Yup. Is it a lot of money? Yup. But, we just got an income tax refund that is the exact amount I need for the first two years (thank you, Adoption Tax Credit!). So, we’ll be putting that into a dedicated account to pay for school.

That is all.

Congrats on the school decision! How exciting! I’m going to do no fb (or, no laptop, really–email/fb on my iPod only, which is annoying, so I hope I do it less) when my semester is over. I’ll be happy to avoid the computer for a while. But if I’m on for school I’m not disciplined enough to avoid altogether.

Great decision about school.

Excellent goals! Congrats on the school decision!

Good luck with all those NoGoals! I’ve heard Nook has a Free Friday offering, and I know Kindel has lots of free titles. So if you like what’s there you could still have your new books without spending. 🙂

Meant to mention: I can download e-books from the SJPL for my kindle. You might check to see if your library offers something similar that is Nook compatible.
