Oh no. So sorry. this baby was just not meant to be, though I’m sure you were already attached and must be heartbroken. I am so sorry this happened to all of you. You can’t take it personally. you have to imagine what she was going through. I’m sure it wasn’t anything personal against you that made her change her mind. My prayers are with you. I hope you gain understanding and comfort.

I followed you through The Color of Water… So sorry! A friend of mine fostered a child with intention to adopt for TWO years (from ages 3-5)! The biological mother had exactly two years to complete a 3 month drug rehab program in that time, or the adoption would go through. At the last minute, she half-assed her way through it and my friend and her husband had to return the child. 🙁 IT BROKE HER HEART! I don’t know the details of your story, so I’m not sure how similar this story is to yours… but I can sympathize. These things can be gut wrenching. 🙁
