NoJoMo We Go

So, Rebecca had friends over for Halloween the last two evenings, which, unsurprisingly has managed to annoy the hell out of me. They came down to get in costume and go downtown, because apparently that’s what 30+ year old people do on Halloween. I came home from class yesterday to find them on the patio drinking wine and eating cheese. Just the arrogant aura they generate is pretty annoying. And I’m not sure I was really aware that people actually, you know, drink wine and eat cheese on patios, I thought it was just shit they put in movies or something.

Anyway, this isn’t particularly interesting, but I’m supposed to be writing everyday. I’m somewhat annoyed at myself for being annoyed at Rebecca’s friends, because I know part of it is simply me being jealous that she has friends over and I’m left out, but the superficiality of their interaction is annoying in its own right. I don’t know, I just hope that I don’t turn into that when I’m 30.

Right, I’m going to come up with better stuff than this to write about, I promise.

I keep thinking I’m going to try this NoJoMo deal but I can’t make any promises…I wrote today so I guess I’ll see if can do it. I hope you don’t end up like her at 30, I don’t see how you can…you are far to interesting to be her now. Plus you have that cute southern accent that’s bound to find you a good old northern girl if you get stuck…just come north for a visit!

Wine and cheese are good, though! But the attitude that goes with them is every important.

please. pretentious f’ers. I certainly hope you aren’t drinking wine and eating cheese when you’re 30. I think it’d probably lower my opinion of you. 🙂

ryn: Yeah I know, I have a feeling I’m going to run out of things to say really quickly.

ryn: haha, I would make you sangria instead of wine or kool-aid! Because it is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD. And if you haven’t tried it, I would make you try a lot!

I do the wine and cheese thing! Well, I hate cheese, so I tend to avoid that part, and the friends I join in it are ripe with pomposity… Hmm. What point am I even making? Glad to be back here.. Just so you know, yours is one of few diaries here I didn’t stop reading even when I wasn’t writing. xx

Actually, I really like this entry. I love the last sentence of your first paragraph. I can imagine reading it in a book or something.

ryn: Because he lost the HOPE scholarship so it’s kind of expensive to have to pay for him to go to school here and live here as well.

Matt, you don’t answer your phone. I’m you’re awesome friend Kate, and our conversations make Rebecca very jealous. She’s probably always wondering “WHY IS MATT LAUGHING SO LOUD?! WHO IS THIS AMAZINGLY FUNNY PERSON HE’S ALWAYS TALKING TO?!?!!” So yeah. Don’t be jealous of wine drinking, cheese eating, superficial idiots like them. Because you know what? They probably smell bad.

I know that feeling of… disconnection all too well. When I sit in a crowd and all i want to do is scream at the people around me, making them stop talking so much nonsense.

so I get the feeling that you are annoyed.
