More Drivel

Despite my general tendency at avoiding any sort of sociality, I’ve come to a surprising realization over the past few days. I am lonesome.

I’m also having the surprising realization that my diary is starting to sound like every other one on this site, but, anyway. Basically, I’ve been living alone for the past month, with my only form of social interaction coming from my creative writing class and weekends spent with my parents. That doesn’t really amount to much, even for a recluse like myself.

Now, I realize this could likely be solved by things such as “going out,” but this is entirely beside the point. As fellow diarists, you should well know that we don’t keep diaries to solve problems, but to whine about them. I’m no different than you.

As far as that creative writing class goes, I did indeed present my poem today to the class for critique. It went about as I expected, complete with insightful comments like “I thought it was depressing,” as if I intended a poem about our lives being meaningless to be uplifting.

I also had the pleasure of being compared to both F. Scott Fitzgerald and Walt Whitman, along with having a student ask for an autographed copy of the poem. Right.

Last day of the class tomorrow. It was pointless, but fun. Which really sums up this diary, doesn’t it?

Log in to write a note

🙂 lol Well, I love writing in my diary even though, I have about nil zero to talk about. But, I have fun with it. As I am sure you do too. Two great writers to be compared to. You should be proud! Jess —-by the way…cute picture!

Can I have your autograph?

June 29, 2006

Already the last day? Goodness, that was quick.

Ryn: Thanks for the note. And alright. you may be added.

Aw, its ok. My diary is pretty pointless too. I would think someone would tell you to publish it before they ask for an autograph.

Pointless, but fun? It has a point for you, surely? x

Nothing can be pointless if it’s fun. Oh..and that guy really wanted you to sign your poem for him? Ha. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t be laughing..but its so much fun. Later days. -Steph

RYN: I write very bad poetry and I post it anyway, but although I’m very shy in real life, I’m shameless and honest online. I understand that not everybody is that way. I wrote the poem that’s on my contents page if you want to see some, but that’s one of the better poems I’ve written, most of them are not that good, and that one is even not that good. I bet your poem is good though if…

…somebody wanted an autographed copy. Thanks for your note. Oh, and thanks for telling me about the Robert Frost poem.

July 3, 2006

*coughs*So, are you going to post it?C’mooon.

Surely giving a girl your autograph beats being told 3 times a day “you should write a book!” And when I say “beats”, I mean “is even more fucking laughable than”.

You are probably right on both topics. Hunter seems to have a lot over me these days, which can manifest itself in good and bad ways… he said to me the other day he’s all smug he’s finally sussed me. I don’t know… I bet your poetry sucks. Is it wryly cynical with an unsavoury emotional edge?

Just wondering, how did you and michael. meet? So where did you bump into each other in cyber space? _carrie

July 5, 2006

Er, what sort of question is that? Where do you think we met, on myspace?

Just asking through who’s diary did you meet? 🙂

To the above noter: I couldn’t say, he noted me first.
