Heather is a Trip

So the trip with Heather was just as incredibly fun as I was expecting it to be. Charleston and Savannah are both extremely beautiful cities and when you combine them with an extremely beautiful girl like Heather it turns out the results are quite good. We also actually listened to the advice of OD friend Emerson and stopped by Hilton Head and Beaufort, both of which were rather nice. Most everything about the trip was rather nice, really. Well, except for that hotel we stayed at in Savannah!

I want to write something more about Heather and my unique relationship with her and the way I feel about her, but I’m not sure I can capture it in words exactly. We spent most of the trip arm and arm and much closer than most friends would dare be, but that’s really the only way we know how to be around each other. It’s the only way I know to be around her, at least.

It hardly felt like the first time I’d seen her in over a year. It’s strange to think that so much time had passed or that we’d both gone through so many experiences since we last saw each other – it felt more as though we’d only seen each other a week before. Not because we both haven’t grown a lot in the last 17 months, because I think we have. But I’m learning that maybe our experiences aren’t teaching us that the relationship we have is something that we should grow out of.

Maybe they’re teaching us that it’s something we should grow to appreciate more.
