Christmas Eve

Earlier today I accidentally discovered my Father’s surprise Christmas gift for me: A backpack. I can not express my delight in words.

Really, relative to helium tanks and miniature air hockey, it’s not a bad gift.

Not that I’m complaining about my parents either. I’m an absolutely spoiled kid who essentially gets anything he wants be it for Christmas or otherwise, but, then, I ruin this privilege by never wanting anything. Though usually my parents insist on my getting myself something for Christmas (with their money), so I end up ordering a few books and DVD’s, which I did this year, although I’ve already read/watched about half of them now, anyway.

I’m also likely now giving the impression that my parents are filthy rich, which I fear I do quite often. This needs a clarification. They’re not really rich, and the reason they find me so affordable is they never spend any money on themselves. I don’t know that this is really because they’re tight with money or just that they lack the desire to spend it, but I’m leaning towards the latter. I guess apathy can be genetic.

I’m a few minutes shy of writing 3 entries within 24 hours. That’s evidence enough that not much is happening around here.

I would say Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays, but all those wishes seem to cause so much controversy these days I think I’ll withhold. But have a nice day on the 25th everyone.
