Out of surgery *EDIT*

Back from the hospital.  I had surgery on the 7th of September and I’m home now.  I’m healing quite well but still on a lot of pain pills which make me very sleepy.

I want to thank you all for your well wishes, prayers and thoughts.  I am up walking around with crutches and getting around where before I would just be in bed sleeping.  Not to say I haven’t been sleeping, because I have, but I am still mobile.

They did a nerve block in my right ankle, and then they did a fusion and lengthened my Achille’s tendon.  They found the arthritic bone riddled with arthritis and bone spurs which caused a lot of my pain.  My surgeon was even surprised when he found the bone spurs.  I was in a lot of pain but no one knew to the extent and now they know because the bone spurs caused a lot of the pain.

I stayed until yesterday morning and was out by 10:15 AM.  I had  a bit of trouble keeping food down the first day I was in my hospital room, but I kept food down yesterday.  It’s from all the anesthia.

I’m going to go lay down for  a bit.  TIred.  I just got up a little bit ago but I’m tired again.  Yesterday was sleep, get up, pee, sleep, get up, pee, sleep, get up eat, pee, sleep.  I think today will be the same way.

This is my first cast…it’s just an ace bandage and then a splint.  I was too swollen for a regular cast and this will allow for swelling.
