Introducing Sage
So, we decided that we were getting each other a cat for Christmas this year. We made it back to our place on the 28th, and after going out for breakfast on Saturday the 29th, we decided on a whim to swing by one of the no-kill shelters in town. We thought we were going to get a feel for the place, talk about what we were looking for in a cat (size, age, gender…). Well, this little one-year-old male cat was very emphatic about the fact that he should be coming home with us.
Turns out he was everyone’s favorite cat in the shelter, and all the staff were very excited about him being adopted. They had dubbed him "Sweetums" during his stay, which I found a bit obnoxious, so the first day and a half he was at our place we were struggling to find a name. Once we got him home, he was ready to explore, so we set him up in the bathroom with food, water, litterbox and jingly ball. He chased the ball nonstop for an hour while we pulled down the Christmas tree and tried to make the main apartment living areas a bit safer. Then we let him out and he literally ran laps around the apartment for another hour or two. The next few days he retreated to hiding under the bed, until he leaped into bed with us on Friday night. So, I guess little Sage is feeling at home now.
What a beautiful cat! Also, great books on your shelf.
