It’s a good time…
…. to be a comic book nerd! Luckily when I was in high school, pro wrestling was at its peak so I wasn’t too big of a geek to know everything about that. And nowadays with superhero movies routinely dominating the box office, it’s a good time to share my unnecessarily vast amount of comic book knowledge to friends, family, and co-workers!
I know what that first paragraph may lead some of you to believe, but I married one of the most beautiful and popular sorority girls from my college so ha! 😛
Anyways, since the trailers for ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ and ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ were released in the last week, I had to share my excitement via an entry
The ‘Days of Future Past’ story arc is my personal favorite story arc and helped propel X-Men’s popularity way back when so it has potential to be huge! And it could segue nicely into the ‘X-Force’ movies, which could bring some of my other personal favorite story arcs involving Apocalypse. I’ve waited over a decade to see a Sentinel in ‘Days of Future Past’, please don’t make me wait another decade to see Apocalypse! haha
Plus the ‘X-Force’ movies could (and should) involve Deadpool! He should get his own movie already!
The Captain America sequel looks good! It looks like it’ll be the best movie (out of the Avengers phase 2 movies) before the Avengers sequel. Although I really hope they explain why other Avengers aren’t involved in these solo movies. I mean Captain America not helping Iron Man in ‘Iron Man 3’ when the president was kidnapped? SHIELD altogether not helping? It just makes no sense
Thor could get away with it since he goes to Asgard. But all these battles going on in the US and the Avengers won’t help each other? Hopefully it’ll make sense by the time ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ is over
Although I can’t say I’m that excited about Avengers Phase Three. Ant-Man? Gosh I don’t know why they would make a movie with him. Out of all the Avengers, the three I’d least want to see are Ant-Man, Wasp, and Falcon. And they’ve decided to go with all three, haha. Then Doctor Strange? Not really interested, unless they cast Joseph Gordon-Levitt as rumored. There’s rumored to be two other movies, one involving a female superhero. Probably Miss Marvel. Hopefully the other one is a Hulk sequel!
Personally I think ‘Planet Hulk’ and ‘World War Hulk’ should be involved in the Avengers series. I mean if they decide to end its run with the current set of actors and before a reboot, ‘World War Hulk’ would seem great to use!
Thus ends my superhero rant. I won’t be going into what DC is doing with Superman and Batman. I mean ‘Man of Steel’ wasn’t that interesting to me (and I’m a big Superman fan). And their casting of Ben Affleck as Batman? I’ll give the director the benefit of the doubt for now, but there are doubts, haha
moral of the story: Villains always have antidotes. They’re funny that way…
Have a Nice Day!
