I remember when…
I didn’t write in an entry yesterday because I was hungover at work. This is not a new concept for me, however it is not part of my normal office routine anymore, haha. It did give me a flashback to my new employee orientation here back in 2009…
I was a ‘hot hire’. No it had nothing to do with my attractiveness (I had just graduated college and spent the next month getting drunk everyday waiting for employment, so I packed on pounds, haha). Just I had to start working immediately, even though the next new employee orientation was two weeks away. That would be on a Monday, but the worst Monday for me. It was the Monday after Super Bowl Sunday, which is like a holiday to me! π
My brother and my cousin were joking about "initiating" me into the working world like they had done. Which is get wasted the night before your first day, so you show up with a hangover. Well since I was a ‘hot hire’ they didn’t have time to make this happen. Plus at that point in my life, I had never had a hangover. I felt invincible to the concept!
So two weeks later comes Super Bowl Sunday at a friend’s house party. Having just graduated college, and getting my new job which would pay me boat loads more than I ever had before, I felt bold. So I attempted to mark something off my personal bucket list: drinking an entire margarita bucket myself. You know those buckets you buy at stores meant for a whole party of people? And I don’t use their proportions, I put about 70% tequila, 30% margarita mix. Yep I attempted to drink that entire bucket myself. I did get well past half-way, but then I was gone, haha
Woke up, headed to orientation with a huge hangover. Never had one before either, it was terrible. I kept falling asleep, I took a ‘bathroom break’ during a speech (which we weren’t supposed to do) to go hug a toilet and puke. It was just terrible… yet awesome at the same time! π
Of course back then it took over half a strong, strong margarita bucket. Yesterday’s hangover was caused by one beer rita. One freaking beer rita! That’s funny to me
Anyways, haven’t had luck with technology lately. Mostly batteries. Monday morning, my car wouldn’t start. Damn car battery! Tuesday my cell phone wouldn’t charge, and I have 3 chargers. Damn cell phone battery! Wed morning (while hungover) I spent a lot of time fixing my damn printer. And then yesterday afternoon on a jog, my Dre Beats headphones died. Yes those require batteries too, at least the studio versions do. And yes, I run in really expensive headphones meant for studio use π Either way, damn basic batteries!
moral of the story: With all this technology failing around me, makes me glad no one in my family has a pacemaker…
Have a Nice Day!
