Flu shots – instant sickness!

Today I took the annual flu vaccines here at my job. I guess I’m not supposed to take for granted that my job gives its employees a free flu vaccine. I try not to, but really it’s not ‘offered’ to us. I’d say it’s technically more of a threat. Because if you don’t take one, you’d have to wear a surgical mask everywhere around the campus for a year. Or 6 months, I forget. But either way it’s very inconvenient!

Plus I’m the type that actually gets sick from the flu shot. Not everyone does, but some people do, and I’m one of those people. Which sucks because prior to this job I’d only get sick once a year. But I get a flu shot now, so ideally one would think it would prevent me from getting sick later. But no, I get sick when I take the shot and again later, which would seem that I’d get my one sickness a year as scheduled. Just the flu shot adds a second cold, haha

Athough it’s debatable whether the shot is why my sickness rate increased or that I’m aging. I’m no longer in my 20’s! (If you’re older than me, too bad if it makes you feel old because by my standards I’m old! haha)

Right now I’m drinking my Odwalla C-Monster, it has 1500% vitamin C in it. I have more waiting at home. I warned my wife I may be laying in bed all weekend, sick and suffering… I mean I told her I’ll have no problem working on the lawn and doing all my house chores because I’m a He-Man warrior king! 😛

moral of the story: I had a dream I had two pet chickens. One got sick, so I made chicken soup out of the other one to help the sick one get well
