Coming around full circle
My wife and I saw the Thor sequel yesterday. It was pretty good, definitely better than the first one. I would even go out and say I enjoyed this movie more than Iron Man 3. But that’s more because of the bitter taste in my comic book nerd mouth that was left after what they did with the Mandarin character. Really there’s no Thor storyline more interesting than an Iron Man storyline in my opinion
I will put this shocking *spoiler* out there for anybody who plans on seeing Thor: They didn’t show the Captain America 2 trailer during the trailers. Haha, I wasn’t going to leave a real spoiler. But it confuses me why they wouldn’t show Captain America 2’s trailer before the Thor movie. I mean it’s just an odd business decision. Obviously your target demographic is in the theaters watching Thor, so show them the trailer to the next movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Duh!
On Saturday we held our baby shower! I’ll probably dedicate an entry on the specifics of this later with pics included. I haven’t posted pics in so long, I think I just have the urge to do it for the sake of doing it
One thing I will mention about the shower that made me smile: The kids were upstairs wreaking havoc in my gameroom and the kids playroom, and outside with the Spider-Man games we setup to be played
This is beautiful to me because it shows my life coming around in full circle (don’t you love when the exact phrase in the title is used again in the dialogue? haha). When I was a kid, we’d go to my Uncle’s house in Sugar Land because he had the nice house with all the cool toys and game tables. The kids would be upstairs in the game room or playroom or outside running around. The adults would be downstairs sitting around, talking and enjoying each other’s company
And now it’s my turn to be the parent. My brother’s and cousins’ kids were running around our house. We have the nice house now with the toys and the game room with game tables, and nice neighborhood to run around in. So I’m going to love hosting the get togethers for the kids to act a fool and bond with each other, while us parents relax and talk
Although I’m not that grown-up. I was up in my game room/man cave chasing the kids around and wrestling with them. My wife had to actually tell me to come downstairs for the present opening and picture taking. So I obliged. Walking down the stairs with a kid wrapped around each leg and another on my back with his arms around my neck
moral of the story: The best thing about family events is the buffet of delicious food and the kids to goof off with. After pigging out on the food, I won’t feel guilty because I’ll burn all the calories chasing the kids and throwing them around!
Have a Nice Day!
