Snow Day!!!

I got a call from my work phone tree saying that we were closed today because of the snow! Sweet! So I went back to sleep…and I slept….and slept…and slept some more. I just got up about a half an hour ago and looked out the window.  There’s not very much snow, which makes me wonder if the person who called me had gotten it straight. Haha. Oh well. I’m enjoying my snow day, whether or not  it really is one or not.  I guess tomorrow I’ll know. LOL.

I’m not responsible. You know. I don’t feel like an adult. I feel like a kid playing an adult’s role. Is that odd? Do you guys feel like that? Sometimes I feel like I’m fresh out of high school. And then I look around and see others who are my age making decent money, owning homes, getting married and having kids.  I look at myself and think, wow, when am I going to grow up?

I know its not good to compare myself to others, but its kind of hard not to.  Ah well. Its a good day. I’m snowed in…sort of, but not really. I have coffee brewing and food to eat. I made this awesome lo mein the other day.  I used ramen noodles and some peas and carrots and green onions and i sauteed everything then made a ginger soy sauce out of ground ginger, soy sauce, a little brown sugar and some garlic. Mmmmm. It was so good!  I’ve been told that I should become a chef…but I remember, from my days of waitressing, how stressful a kitchen could be. I guess every job has its stresses. When it was good it was really good. I kinda liked working in a restaurant. Everyone was sort of like a family. I didn’t really dread that job too often.

I liked that, as a waitress, you could charm your way into money. Is that kind of sick or what? lol. Its like, one step away from prostitution! hahaha!  Ok, maybe not quite so much, but u get the point. I’ve thought about trying to get another waitressing job but i don’t know if my shoulder could keep up with it. And I”m back in my teeny tiny hometown where there are only  6 restaurants in the whole county. Well there are a few more but they’re too far away and not worth the amount of tips i would get. They’re all diner-ish.  And half of them are family owned. (ugh) I can’t even get into all the "yucks" about working for a family owned restaurant.  I guess it would depend on the family. but i’ve never had a great experience.

Alright. I’ve reallly really really just rambled on about nothing in general. So, sorry for wasting 10 minutes of your time. LOL. *wink*  Maybe I’ll come back w/something decent tomorrow! 🙂

I just busted my butt in my driveway when I was trying to go back to work after lunch. I slipped and fell, hit the back of my head on the ice and was dizzy for a few seconds. I’m okay, at least I was okay enough to drive back to work. I told the guy who sits next to me to notify someone if I zone out or start acting even more bizarre than normal haha. I understand exactly what you mean. I don’t remember growing up, I just sort of started assuming more responsibilities lol.
