Boo Hoo.

I did not get the job at the newspaper. I was a bit bummed out about that, but the editor offered me some great constructive criticism and offered to send my resume out to another paper to try to get me more freelance.  He said he liked my writing style and i was in the top contentions, but i just needed more experience.

The story came out the other day in the paper, front and center! 🙂 It felt good to see my byline again! And I actually get paid. My first paid piece!  So it wasn’t all for granted.

The boy called today. He’s sick so he might not be coming tomorrow. 🙁 I’m sad. He’s 3.5 hours away so its not like I can just jump in my car and see him anytime.  You know, this is a pretty new relation.  So i’m kind of cautious about telling people, but I live in a very very very very small town. Just to get the point across: its VERY small.  This would be his first time coming here. So, realizing that we’ll be traipsing around this VERY small town, I also came to the realization that someone I know will see us and will report back to my family. *sigh* So I made it known to my family. *sigh* And I’ve been getting a 3rd degree ever since. *sigh* I’ve been saying, its nothing serious…etc…*sigh* Everything is much simpler when my family doesn’t know….I half expect my mom to show up. *sigh* Help!

Aloha… This seems to be a common theme for a lot of us… we like you… but… you need more experience… so… how does one get more experience… by being hired of course…! Inasmuch as this editor likes you… there will be others… and hopefully a “paying” job offer… Me ke aloha…

Sorry you didn’t get the job, but yay for the small positives that came with the rejection <—– that sounds awful! LOL. Meh, family suck sometimes, just remember you’re an adult and try to ignore their interference as best you can *hugs*
