Suggestions **Edit**

For the last several years, I’ve been using Zoto to host all my photos, but I’ve had some concerns of late that the site might be going under.  A little over a year ago, they introduced a new business model that no longer offered a free, limited, ad-sponsered plan.  I had no problem with ugrading to a paid account given that I needed the unlimated storage anyway, but the proposed business model sank.  They’ve since switched to an open source development method, which I’d normally be in support of, but we haven’t seen any updates in over a year.  Not to mention, there have been no staff blog posts, no forum updates, and no responses to paying customer inquiries in that time, either.  I love the look and feel of the Zoto site.   I also hate the idea of having to migrate over 3700 photos to a new hosting site, but I’m considering it.  I’d hate to wake up one day to find my beloved Zoto site offline, never to return again.

So with that, I’m asking you guys for suggestions.  What photo hosting sites do you prefer?  Obviously, I don’t mind paying a fee if the site is worth it.  I need the ability to tag my photos however I choose, and I’d prefer the ability to tag them on a map.  It would also be nice if the site could collect metadata about my pictures, such as aperature, focal length, etc.  Photo albums are a must so I can easily share with family, and I don’t like a cluttered, confusing homepage.

There’s so many to choose from that I can’t make a decision.  Help!

**Edit**
Thanks for all the suggestions, guys!  I knew I could count on you all!  I think I’ve narrowed it down to two options — Flickr and just getting off my lazy ass and creating my own site.  I am a web developer after all.  We’ll see…

I’ve used Photobucket and Snapfish, and they get the job done for the most part.

Sorry, I don’t use any site so I can’t be of assistance. But it is glad to hear from you on a regular basis again! Hope all is well =D

Have you considered getting your own website? You could use something like “Gallery” (http://gallery.menalto.com/) to organize and display your photos.

Flickr beats everything else!! *random noter*

I’ve always used Photobucket so I don’t really know of many others.

I use snapfish.

I use photobucket. I used to use Snapfish but one day I logged in an all my albums were empty. Totally wiped. I don’t trust it since. I’ve also heard great things about Flikr, but for me photobucket is easy to use and it also works alongside OD, so its easy for me to get my pictures on here. xxx

I like Flikr. And I know a lot of people that use it and seem to like it too. They have so much fun stuff to play with on there. :~)

Photobucket!

Photobucket has always worked great for me, It also collects the data about pictures too.

I used Picasa.google.com It isn’t unlimited but I don’t suspect Google is going anywhere any time soon.

Coppermine (http://coppermine-gallery.net/) is another popular open source project for showing images. I’ve never used either of them (Coppermine or Gallery) so I couldn’t tell you how easy/hard they are to modify – though if you create a site mainly just to show off your photos you probably wouldn’t need to modify the software anyway.

If you use Flickr or host your own pics, I can see them at work!! Yay!!! :)~

Ryn: it’s not too bad yet, I swear! Well, it will definitely be colder than Austin, but it’s only dipped down below freezing a couple of times so far and we still haven’t had any snow either, which is strange. They’ve gotten some in the mountains, but none in Denver, and I don’t think any in Springs yet either. It sounds like Texas is agreeing with you, missy. Look how different your life is from when I first started reading you. Do you ever hear from/about your ex, Bobby?

ryn: I know, right? It’s bothered me for years, and I’ve TOLD him that but he always thinks I’m joking. He better start listening, though, if he’s going to be my team lead. Ugh. *shudder* I’m a web developer, too (or, well, not as much anymore since I tend to tell other people what to do more than I do it myself these days, but, close enough), and I can’t get around to designing something myself. I love flickr, though, it’s what I use and does everything you said you wanted. and then some. Also, I looked back on some of your previous entries and I LOVE your pictures! So pretty.

I love photobucket, and it is linked directly with OD, so its super easy to transfer photos into your diary.
