St. Patty’s Day 2010, Part One (PICS)
<– More pics that-a-way.
As I’m sure I’ve mentioned many times before, Chuck and I are both Irish (me, a little Scottish mixed in), and Chuck is extremely proud of his heritage. Needless to say, Saint Patrick’s Day is a day filled with festivities for the Hurley/Neely household. Last year’s holiday started out with Chuck dancing around the house for hours draped only in the Irish flag. This year, we took off work the 17th, 18th, and the 19th to properly celebrate. With Jeremy and Robyn in tow, we met up with several friends in Austin and started the party early in the afternoon. I ended up with literally hundreds of pictures, and I’m not sure even now how I’m going to narrow them down for OD. And be warned: The pictures get stranger and stranger as the night went on.
Of course, for an occasion like this, we always get a hotel room and a cab back to it. This is Chuck in his kilt standing outside of our room just after checking in.
Getting ready to hit the town.
Joe and Jeremy. We got there at 2pm, and Joe was already hammered.
Justin (Joe’s kid) and Joe. You’ll notice in later pictures that Joe has a tendency to lean his head way back in photos. I have no idea why.
Jeremy and Robyn, the newlyweds.
Jeremy and Chuck in their Scottish and Irish national kilts, respectively. This is oddly reminiscent of a photo from last year…
Under the tent at Fado, already several Guinnesses down. Yes, he’s flipping me off, and yes, I totally went with the tacky, flashy garb.
Better pic of Robyn and Jeremy. We had moved on to Mother Egan’s on 6th Street.
Group shot! The girl that took the picture complete cut Justin out of the right side — ha.
Aaron and Kirin, a couple of our fellow Blaggards groupies.
Justin’s… face.
Justin, Joe (again with the weird head tilt), and Guinness.
I’m not sure if he’s crouching because his legs were tired or if he really just wanted to be next to that chick’s ass. Who knows?
And this is where it all started to go down hill. Much later in the night, there was a rogue picture of a penis on that same shot tray, but I’ve omitted that one for everyone’s safety.
She’s way too excited about that weird, green liquid.
Robyn and me… and Chuck trying to bite Robyn’s head off in the background.
The gang back together again.
Seriously with head lean, Joe?
I forced Joe to take another one without leaning his head back, and then he just looked mean. And I don’t know why Chuck looks psycho in this one.
Ew, gross.
Stay tuned. More to come!
Cheers!
