Penis Pancakes and Double Rainbows!
Between getting ready to move, getting ready for the wedding, work and concerts and hobbies, I’m a busy little bee with little time to write these days. So I’ll just share some pictures instead!
First things first, the house progress! We try to stop by every weekend and take some pics, and it’s amazing how quickly new homes go up these days. They broke ground in June, and we’ve already got a building with a roof and windows and a front door. We’ve gotten moving estimates from a local company, and have bought our boxes and packing material. So far, we look good for an on time closing and move in October!
June 23, 2012 – Plumbing’s in!
July 1, 2012 – Foundation poured!
July 5, 2012 – Lumber delivered.
July 15, 2012 – Two of the four floors framed!
July 15, 2012 – Standing in front of our unit!
July 22, 2012 – Almost all of the framing complete.
August 4, 2012 – We have a roof and windows!
August 4, 2012 – They’ve also poured the sidewalk in front of our building, so we can take pictures of the front of the place now, too!
I still just can’t believe how quickly it’s going up. I’m so stinking excited, I can hardly contain myself. We should start seeing them moving in the cabinetry and granite that we picked out, and that’s when shit’s going to get real.
Enough of that. Moving on. Here’s a bunch of random photos that I’ve plastered on my FB wall in the last couple of months.
Bruce lying in a pool of his own drool after going to the park. It’s a nightly ritual.
Got my wedding band back from being fitted with my engagement ring. I didn’t want to take it off. I put it on and look at it like a giddy schoolgirl every. single. day. 3 1/2 months to go!
We watched the fireworks on the 4th of July from a boat on the Potomac. It was pretty fucking awesome.
Bruce pouts. A lot.
We saw Alice Cooper.
And Iron Maiden.
We got all dressed with a blurry doggy butt to go see Dream Theater.
Speaking of Dream Theater, Evelyn, Rob and Chris were pretty captivated.
We went to Mayhem Fest, and made duck faces for metal.
I saw a double rainbow in Colorado and wondered, "WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!?" No, seriously. It was like the brightest thing ever.
Chris surprised me one morning with penis pancakes. The pancake batter semen was a nice touch. YUM.
My friend Sam made orange wedge jello shots for a party, but we forgot about them in the fridge.
So we at them ALL the next morning.
Oh, and Chris tried to feel me up at that party.
And I let him.

I surprised Chris with tickets to a Medieval dinner theater, and learned that, "It ain’t easy being king."
I seriously came around the corner one day to see this.
Did a bar-hopping scavenger hunt one weekend, that culminated in an Irish pub with pints of Guinness.
Made Tammy an apron from a vintage a pattern.
Made another for her to give as a gift.
Made a bunch of cookies for a cookout a couple weekends ago, too. I’m seriously considering quitting my day job. Nah, just kidding. But I am getting pretty damn good at this shit.
Threw a lovely fondue get-together and Dominion night with Rob and Evelyn.
The next set of photos is from a cookout we went to at Dan and Sam’s house a couple weekends ago. Sam’s bachelorette party is in a couple weeks, and I can only imagine the debauchery that will occur.
This book started a LOT of vibrant conversation that night — a room full of left-wingers, several feminists, a couple of no-kidding hippies, and a lesbian couple. Yeah, they didn’t take to kindly to a "doctor" that starred in The Bachelor telling them how to mold themselves to be a better woman for a man. It was entertaining to say the least.
Orchids, orchids, everywhere.
Laughter is always the best medicine.
Mr. Beckett!
Not sure what pose Sam was going for here… but it works.
Rob and Evelyn, always so deep in conversation.
Testing my lighting out on Christy.
Why are they pointing at me?
Omnomnom.
Up the nose shot.
We were actually in the middle of a serious debate about… wait, I forget.
Too cute for her own good.
Oh, hey! They looked at the camera!
Yeah, so, it’s hard to believe that all of that happened in just a month and a half. Now you see why I never have time to write. And now, I’ve got to run. There’s a Friday night happy hour gang in Old Town calling my name. Until next time…
Cheers,
Felina

OMG RACH! Love love LOVE the aprons! If I had ones like that. I would actually USE them! (and not just in the kitchen!) Also. I am wondering. Do ALL of your friends stand around with unlit cigarettes and no lighters in their hand, or just that one?
