Nature Hike (PICS)

Since several of you have asked, the new camera that I bought is a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS.  The body came with a 18-55mm lens, which I didn’t really need, but considering it uses image stabilization technology, I’m not complaining.  The two together was $599.  Although there are better cameras available, I can’t justify spending $1500 on one when photography is just a hobby for me.  Besides, I’m totally pleased with the quality of images I’ve been able to capture.  Plus, I already had a 70-300mm lens with macro function that fits this body, so that was an added benefit.

After receiving some pictures from my mom a few days ago of all the trees in her area turning beautiful, bright colors, Chuck and I decided to go on a hike down some trails near our house.  Of course, the new camera accompanied us, so here’s some of the best that I caught.

Oh, he was just thrilled that I took this picture.

I love the colors of fall.

Same tree, lots of wind.

That leaf reflecting the sunlight caught my eye.

I just liked all the different colors present in this one.

Chuck walking ahead of me carrying my extra lenses and my tripod.

Chuck pointed out the bug to me.  Not even sure how he noticed it.

Considering I have a severe phobia of spiders, I don’t even know why I took this picture, let alone kept it.

Not sure what kind of berries those are, but they were hanging from a tree.

They look like little tomatoes close up.  Weird.

Guess I felt the need to take some pictures of weeds.

This was an absolutely huge tree we found looming over us in the woods.

Snapped this picture of the sunset over Belton Lake as we were coming off the trail.

More pictures to come!

Cheers,
Felina

I love your pics. The last one reminds me of one time when my sister and I were younger. She wouldn’t get out of my (water)bed, so I rocked it really hard and poured a cup of water on her, telling she was drowning in Belton Lake. Mature, right! LOL She got out of my bed, though. 🙂 I was like 9 and she was 6.
