Holiday Recap

I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday this year… Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or just that couple extra days off from work.  However you celebrate, I hope it was awesome!

I’m sure, given my last post, I don’t have to tell you that mine was amazing.  I never in a million years, at least not until I met Chris, thought that I would actually get married one day.  I especially never thought that someone would know me so well and be so perfect for me to actually sing his proposal to me on stage at a karaoke bar.  And of course, he chose the bar where we had our first real date and the song that he sang that same night.

And my god, I was so oblivious to what was going on!  A couple of weeks before, Chris had apparently sent out an email to all our friends in the area, asking them to be a part of the celebration.  Our friends are so good at keeping secrets.  Some made their plans to attend directly with Chris.  Others, in a successful attempt to throw me off, actually coordinated their plans with me, so I wouldn’t catch on that Chris was inviting everyone we know to our favorite karaoke spot.  That night, I was so shocked as to how many people showed up to hang with us, that I even posted about it on Facebook, "We reserved two 6-tops at our favorite karaoke bar tonight, and we still don’t have enough chairs. Love it!"  I had absolutely no idea that all of these people were there just to be a part of one of the most of amazing moments of my life.

Anyway, you saw the video, so I promise not to go on and on about it.  But I will tell you, I got a serious case of the butterflies when we woke up the next morning, and Chris rolled over, smiled, and said, "Good morning, Cramer!"  And I’ve probably scribbled my soon to be new name a hundred times on my notepad at work.  *squeal*

Okay, enough about that for now!  Christmas was also pretty perfect.  Between a great company holiday party (and a raunchy Christmas-themed burlesque show afterwards), opening all our Christmas presents a week early (Rob: "You guys are like two 8-year-olds with no rules." Me: "Well, yeah. Isn’t that what being a grown up is all about?"), and spending Christmas weekend in Jacksonville, Florida, with the Cramer family, December was definitely a full and wonderful month.

For New Years Eve, Chris and myself, my brother Rob and his girlfriend, Evelyn, and our friends Rob and Tiff dropped some serious cash on tickets to the Pinstripes and Pinups Party at P.O.V. on top of the W Hotel right next to the White House.  Amazing views, insane beats, scantily clad dancers and an open premium bar.  Yes, please!  Everyone was dressed to kill — women in pencil skirts and red lips and men in three piece suits and fedoras.  Have I ever mentioned that I absolutely love men in hats?  I so wish it were still customary for men to adorn hats every day.

So, as usual, I have photos to share, but I’ll post those in separate entries.  Happy New Year to you all!

Cheers,
Felina

Always a good sign when the man proposes in a way so perfectly suited to his hopeful bride.
