A Year (and a Half) in Photos, Part Three
<— More pictures that-a-way!
Okay, so those last two entries caught us up through May. I started taking a lot more photos, though, after Chris and I started dating, plus we’ve traveled quite a bit, so I’ll probably have to break up the last six months into more than one entry.
Chris and me at the Rock It Grill, the karaoke bar I mentioned where everyone knows me by name. We were there with several friends, but as this was right after we started dating, we were pretty much only focused on each other.
Pretty sure I was jumping up and down singing Crazy Train.
Another friend I’ve made since moving, Reuben.
Yeah, this is Chris and Rob that same night. This was just after the wide spread phenomenon of ‘planking’ made its way to the US. I seriously thought we were going to get arrested that night. We have since planked, owled and Tebowed as many other unusual locations as possible.
In July, Chris took me to several museums because he thought I would enjoy taking photos there. But my favorite part of the day was visiting the Sculpture Gardens at the National Mall. Right at the entrance there’s a ‘Wishing Tree.’ You write your wish on a paper tag, and hang on the tree for it to come true. Chris and I both hung wishes on the tree that day, but neither of us told the other what it was. Mine just simply said, "I wish for this to work."
Remember me telling you about that sunset dinner over the Potomac with fireworks afterward? Yeah, this was the view from our table at dinner.
Have you ever had a sparkling Shiraz? You should. With chocolate. It’s divine.
We won some dirty playing cards at a burlesque show at the Red Palace. Then I decided to get obscene with them.
For an employee appreciation event, my company gave us tickets to a Nats game. Since neither Chris nor I even kind of like baseball, this is how we made it fun.
At least the mascots were kind of hilarious.
Arts and crafts day. Bow chicka wow wow! Love is Art kit — buy one. It’s a good time.
I am so, SO glad Chris loves geeky games as much as I do. Arkham Horror is one of the best.
And Dominion comes in a close second.
MayhemFest 2011!
It was SO hot that day. Middle of August, moshing to metal bands under no cover. Oh, and that shirt I was wearing? Not smart. Those metal studs got so hot under the direct sun that they kept burning my arms and Chris’s chest when he would grab me.
Friend and coworker Andrey, Christy, Rob, me and Chris.
Most of the concert crew — Mike, Rick, David, Andrey (in the back), Rob, Chris and Me.
Rock on, mother muchachos.
Ninja owling. Got locked out of the house after MayhemFest, so we spent half an hour trying to break in by climbing to the balcony. Even though we were so tired that we couldn’t form anything more coherent than a grunt, Chris decided that
it was an appropriate time to owl.
Chris and me at a Queensryche concert at the 9:30 Club in August.
At Mango Mike’s, where the drinks are SO big it almost makes the food taste good!
On our way to a KMFDM concert. We decided to go in costume. For absolutely no reason at all.
A typical Sunday morning.
Whew! I think that’s enough for one entry. I still have more pictures to post — Halloween, our road trip to Tammy’s and DragonCon, our trip to San Francisco, and the ShipRocked cruise we just got back from last week! Plus, I want to wrap up with one last photo entry of my photography from the last year. Will try to post more tonight, but if I can’t, I’ll definitely post more tomorrow.
Cheers,
Felina
