weather headache?

It is still dry here… everyone is waiting… waiting.. for the Big Rain.

The man has a new (2nd hand) airseeder and is keen to get going…

Traditionally the opening rains happen late April but nothing yet… After such encouraging late summer rain it all seems to have stopped. And, yes, we’ve had some very pleasant warm weather and lambing has been very easy because of the mildness. So that has been good…

But it has suddenly got quite cold the last few days… had the heater on and had to actually put jumpers on during the day too…

And… I have a weather headache. At least I assume it is a weather headache, hopefully it means some rain is on its way.. my headaches have been reliable in the past…

They do reduce my tolerance level though…. the man has had some episodes this week of the manicness… his behaviour embarrasses me and my stress levels get far too high. I react so badly….. not that I show it so much… but I really need my ME time away from him…

My e-book reader has frozen AGAIN… getting pissed of with it… it was not a cheap item to continually freeze… it is a iriver one.. any hints?

But I have a New Computer! It is very beautiful and very sturdy seeming. I am not using it much yet though at I had to get a different internet modem that goes into its USB hole and sadly my aerial will not  plug into it. I have ring up and ordered a patch lead so hopefully that will arrive soon so I can use it all the time. This poor old faithful will be certainly kept but it is was getting scarily unreliable…

I also, finally, got my desktop upgraded so I will be able to use it too with the new modem, but I have to get the outside aerial put up the antenna tower to get enough reception… might get the man for that… I’m getting lazy in my old age and Mr13 is hopelessly awkward and teenagerly dumb at practical things and the man is…. well…. the man….

Supposed to be doing the tax so better get on!

I have wasted the whole day watching Jessica Watson arrive on the TV…. I’m afraid I had tears rolling down my face most of the time too… I have been absolutely terrified for her… I cannot imagine how her parents survived such emotional trauma… I worry about Mr20 riding his bicycle to the shop!

Having done a few short sailing trips when I was younger I guess I had some idea of the danger she was on, although I can remember being surprised at how worried my family was about me as I had no fear…. maybe the younger you are the less fear??

I watched her on the news. I can’t say that I’d let my kid sail ALONE around the world!! Was her boat wired with cameras and satelite feed? I sure hope so. But a young girl alone? Nope. Not me!

Well, weve been sailing west to the Maronoa and Roma to visit Sue. My grandson Edward turned 21 so it was a big party. I made a hanky box for him of Cypress Pine and Black Bean. Travelled up to Biloela on the way home and down the Burnet Highway. Roma of course had its fair share of rain a couple of months ago evident on all the barb wire fences around town.

I think I would have been stalking Jessica if I was her Mum in an ocean going liner with a ladder down to the life boat already in the water and a big search light trained on her at all times. Yet they had faith in her abilities, and they were right.
