ophaned baby koala

My mother (and I) run a tourist park with wild koalas living in the trees.

We have a friend who brings tourists out as part of her tourist 4WD tour. This friend also runs a wildlife rescue service.

Anyway, last night she brought a baby orphaned koala out to the tourist park asking to collect leaves from our special ‘koala’ trees for it. She had the darling little thing with her and my mother gave the baby koala a large toy koala she had.

Well… the baby koala held out both front legs (arms?) for it immediately… carefully inspected the toy koalas face, touching its face and nuzzling noses with it then snuggling right in, firmly clinging onto its tummy…

It was SO SWEET… It thought it was its mummy…

Well, it will be its mummy too, along with its carer/s until it is old enough to be re-introduced to the wild… not that anyone could take it away! Firmly attached!

Dear little thing…. it won my mother’s heart… she is taking lots of leaves to it every day she can!

Tuffy, I have always ‘helped out’ at the family tourist farm when it gets busy. I don’t get paid for it! So, not working. Well, always working, just not the paid kind!!
