koala submission

Whew, that was a epic first week back at work. ..I was actually thinking it might have been a bit of a slack week when I got there – I didn’t have any appointments booked and no students as classes don’t start til next week – but it actually ended up being quite busy…

It was a bit of a shock to the system really! … I was quite relaxed really after a couple of weeks holidays and took me a few early nights to get my brain working again..

Watched a version of ‘Pride and Prejudice’ on the tv last night that I hadn’t seen before… what heaven it was, to sit there with my feet up, sighing over a particularly gorgeous green eyed version of Mr Darcy….

Tried to apply for what social security I might be eligible for last night – have to get myself organised with this, or I can’t afford to pay the full rate of Child-care – but the website was down – did massive amounts of work proving who I am and doing all the security questions etc before it went down of course, just to annoy me…. I was hoping Mr Darcy would come out the tv – with all his fortune – and propose to me instead!! ….. yeah right…. hahahaha..

All the poor flood victims would have been doing the same thing, trying to claim their emergency payments. –  I don’t have time to wait in their office to have my stuff done there – especially at the moment at they only have three staff – the rest have gone to QLD – so I have to do it online…. hope it comes back – I’ll try again in a minute…

I FINALLY got all my potplants artistically arranged in the little courtyard style back yard in our current rental and then watered them.. They look so pretty – especially the roses – I am happy.

Also because our friends may be coming to stay next week, and I wanted it to look nice for them.

Tomorrow I am going up to, what-I-refer-to-now-as, MY farm to retrieve my barbeque from the camper.

Also to check on the state of my house there… the man has attempted to rent it out before without my knowledge (and certainly without my permission!) – despite it having our possessions in it and being partially renovated and not even having water connected! I needed a machete to hack my way in last time – the man dealt with the weeds everywhere else but around the house… with all the rain we have had they are out of control at the farmhouse he is living in too – but I did manage to find and retreive my potplants from my ruined garden..

My old Falcon Station Wagon has been fixed now and I think I might be able to fit my smaller kitchen dresser in the back of it – or in a trailer – with my other one and retrieve them too – they are in a shed that leaks a bit and birds are living in – so it would be good to save them too – just have to find time and energy!

The Mikkira Station website creating is on hold for the moment because the government has asked us to put in a submission about the wild koala population on the property – so they can try to protect them – important..

Sometimes I wish I could live two lives simultaneously so I could have more time to achieve everything I want to do!

All I can envision is snakes trying to get to the house and I’m completely freaked out. I know you’re braver about those things than I
