I forgot my diary continued…

I had a shit of a weekend last week, with the man (now completely insane) trying to take Mrnow9 with him without my permission (he actually tried to BRIBE him with $50 to get him to come!).

And was trying to recover from my fright when TWO really nice things happened this week. – this has made me feel more happy.

One is, that the graphite mine that has been out of production for more than 20 years, that is adjoining my mother’s land, and has a seam of graphite going under it, has been sold to a Canadian Company and will be going back into production by next year. I am quite excited about this and have been studying up on graphite uses, mining and processing and have just this morning managed to email the guy who has been trying to sell it (but not the the Chinese – that was one of the hold-ups) to congratulate him and offer my services if needed.

The other one is….. I got ASKED OUT!!!!

This one is huge for me…. I haven’t been ASKED OUT for 13 years! I have been with ‘the man’ – forthwith to be known as the ‘ex-man’ – (heheh)  for 15 years and he stopped offering to take me anywhere – special (to look at tractors doesn’t count) after the first two years.

The other reason that it really counts – is that this man is really, really nice. Kind. Gentle. VERY SHY (I was so surprised) and has a Mister14 too – and has been a single parent for well over 10 years….As well as a full-time self-employed builder and has bought and re-built an old farmhouse for him and his kids to live in. I have never seen him with a woman, except, looking sad and polite with his ex occasionally (who was unfaithful and had a child with someone else) or in a pub. He is a lovely Dad with his kids too, does heaps for them and with them.

I have said how happy his offer made me, but have had to put him off for two weeks as I am really really busy. I didn’t tell him that I am also really really STRESSED, but I don’t think I need to…

Little Mrnow9 had finally had a blood test show up a genetic disorder – a mitochondrial ‘deletion’. Just in time to cancel the planned muscle biopsy they were going to do next week. – He has a condition where his body cannot make a particular enzyme and this causes Muscle Weakness. So far he only has this weakness show up in his eye muscles. He cannot move his pupils up at all and fully from side to side, and one of his eyelids is covering most of his eye as the muscles are weak.

Thursday he is booked in in Adelaide Children’s Hosp to have silicon string in his eyebrow to lid so he can use his eyebrow to lift up his eyelid. – Bit of a clever solution, I thought.

I am running out of money – spending an unexpected day off my course today (we are so clever we finish early) looking at alternatives to correct this situation. The ‘ex-man’ has still not produced any sort of property settlement offer at all (despite him requesting one in the first place) so I still half own all the assets but have no income. This puts me over the asset limit to ask for social security payments. But they did say to apply on a ‘hardship’ basis, as I am unable to actually sell any of these assets…
