Herreshof

Thanks so much Tawhiri!

feeling lonely and single-mum-with-sick-kid trapped I googled herreshof…..

…and there she is… my dream boat/s… 1947 H28 or h34… or any of those older ones… wooden spars.. teak everywhere.. heaven to drool over…

will be googling more.. couldn’t find one in SA though… the site was ‘BoatPoint’.. there was a lovely one in NSW only 18,000.

Local sailing club opening day here this Saturday… I’m there… I will be terrified/shy… but the lure of the sea is getting to me..

I wanted to go to the local learn-to-dance class tonight, but was feeling horribly shy about going on my own, and then my little one is so unwell… mean to leave him….sigh

want to contact my now-very-part-time-lover… he would come running (if he is still free)… but we are both, now trapped, with full time single parenting. Sucks really…

Now…. if I had that yacht, moored, just out here from the sailing club… now that’s a thought… how romantic would that be!

I’m going to bed to dream of 1947 herreshof 28… oh… and a lover too… I need one that doesn’t get seasick! haha

Hope the farm deal works out so you can buy your dream boat.

Now your talking. The worries of life will fade away long after the dream of the sea is still there.

I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by, And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking, And a grey mist on the sea’s face and a grey dawn breaking.

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied; And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying, And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life, To the gull’s way and the whale’s way where the wind’s like a whetted knife; And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover, And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over.
