Expensive rental
Well, there was one house available to rent (that I could cope with) but it is very expensive.
We are in it! And I have lots of my (enormous amount of, I’m afraid) possessions in it. It is bigger than the house we were living in, so I have managed to install some of my Stuff I had stored in our other farm house. I’ve still got more Stuff I want though!
I have decided that next time I move I will get a moving van, even if it is a short distance. I love all my Stuff and it is actually really nice to be able to get it out and display it.
I have timber bookshelves that have old interesting (well, to me?!) books in them, and lots of nautical stuff and some brass ornaments and nice timber pieces I have collected, some rescued and restored, some new but old looking. It all looks SO nice in our brand brand new rental house, just finished, builders and painters left, like the day before. Still smells (pleasantly) of paint and new plumbing fittings.
It has two bathrooms – I have a walk-in wardrobe through to an ensuite – clever spaces for an office nook and a set-back area in the lounge area so that the tv can be easily watched but doesn’t throw itself at you (visually). I have a big table in the office nook, which is also easily accessible but mess on table cannot be seen unless you walk around the corner. My filing cabinet even fits neatly in the corner next to big table. Really well thought about design…
We weren’t really supposed to have pets, but desperately missed having a cat, so we have Witch here. We take her for a walk every night on a lead… well we follow her… She is very happy and has been very good.
I am not game to drive the car into garage-under-main-roof so we have made it into a kids’ rec area, but a mouse must have got in under the roller door. It didn’t last long alive! Witch was so excited to have a job to do.
Managing. It has been crazy, looking forward to school finishing for the year. Hard organising everything. Mr13 does two sports and they both have piano lessons. Mr13 has been wonderful looking after Mr8 after school until I get home (after 5.30).
Liking new job.. hoping it continues to go ok..
Man, well, as expected. He has bad days!? I cant communicate to him (neither can anyone else much) so I have stopped trying so hard to get him to stay connected with us… it doesn’t make any difference… it is up to him to live his life.. we cannot force him to participate in ours… but on the other hand .. he cannot expect us to participate in his either…
byee
So are you and the man permenantly apart? ryn: Smores: You roast a marshmallow over the fire and put it between two graham crackers with a piece of chocolate. The chocolate gets all melty from the hot marshmellow, and you squish the whole thing together and eat it. It’s a traditional camping treat in the US (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smore)
