Time

So I thought it was time to start writing more poetry and posting it on here. Now I know that some people are going to tell me that I have a talent for writing but in my opinion I could be a lot better. I wish I had half the talent my best friend does when it comes to writing. I am going to start posting more poems on here. As my best friend did some of my entries are going to be private and some are going to be favorites only. This is one that I wrote about my dad.

The Marine

Standing beside your brothers
Fighting for our freedom
Words being whispered

On the front line
Putting your life
For all of ours

You seem to be strong
Aware of what is at stake
At the mercy of our country

The price of our freedom
Is paid with your life
For the respect of an ungrateful nation

With these simple words
I say thank you
And am grateful for you
