Am I being unreasonable?

Well Ryan and I got into a fight last night because I told him that if I come up and see him after my birthday (which will hopefully be spent in Kentucky with my best friend) I was going to be staying at a hotel. He didn’t like that idea. He want’s me to stay with him. Well the thing about it all is I don’t want to stay with him because I’m not his girlfriend. I just don’t feel right about it all. He said well I want to make you my girl when you come and see me. He just doesn’t want to listen so we got into a huge fight and I don’t hang up on people but last night he pissed me off so bad that I hung up on him. Am I being unreasonable? I mean he asked me if I go to Kentucky am I staying in a hotel and I told him no I would be staying with my bestfriend. He got all mad. He’s like you’ll stay with her but you wont stay with me. I told him look, I’ve known her since we were in 8th grade. There isn’t anything that she doesn’t know about me. Not only that she wouldn’t have it any other way. It just didn’t get any better. So I just went to bed. He called me right back but I didn’t answer. I was tired and I wasn’t in the mood to fight with him. He left me a voicemail saying he was sorry he just doesn’t want to see me get hurt and if I’m staying at a hotel he cant be there to protect me.

And then to top it all off he asked me if I would take my tongue ring out permanately for hm. I said heck no. Most of my family doesn’t like it and wants me to take it out and I said no. He asked me why. I told him because it is a part of me now. I feel weird without it in even for the minute it takes to change it. He said well I’m not sure I’m going to like it. He knew about it from the very beginning. He sent me a text a minute ago saying that he could deal with my tongue ring as long as it means that I dont walk out of his life.
