I just want to work!
I know staying the route of only applying to hospitals jobs may be the best idea but when you spend hours upon hours a day searching and applying to places allll over the country you get to the point where all you want is a job where you make money and BEGIN LIVING YOUR LIFE! In a few years (hopefully) hospitals will be desperately needing nurses again but I really don’t want to keep holding out for that. I’ve also read plenty of people who during these tough times have worked at snf’s or ltc’s for a year or two and have then be able to transition into hospitals so why not try it myself if it means I can finally begin working and making a living.
I’m also tired of being asked “any job yet” and my favorite “I thought there was nursing shortage? why can’t you find a job?” I understand people are just concerned and rooting for me and just don’t know what the real situation is because their not in the healthcare field but it’s extremely tiring to explain it all multiple times a week, every week.
ugh :/
