I was thinking today about how cities always attempt to give their streets cheery, uplifting names. Like we have a "High" street but I bet you anything there is no "Low" street counterpart. And who decided that nuts and foliage are optimistic, anyway? Every city has a walnut and elm street, or some variation thereof.

I think it would be a great idea to do a study of the average depression and morale in a city with downer street names such as "Fuckup Court" and "Douchebag Drive." Would it actually bring people down? Or would they be less depressed because of their better senses of humor? After all, laughing does release endorphins and I know I personally would giggle every time I turned onto "Sandy Vagina Lane."

For some reason this reminds me of a common discussion between me and my roommate, about why tissue boxes always have flowers on them. Aren’t flowers what make your nose run for a lot of people? So why on earth do you want to see them on the box? Yep.
