brought to you live from my plaid pajamas!!
Alright then, I have been writing all of my reports out on paper and am just about ready to start typing them in. I do it that way because I think better with a pen in hand for some reason. They are due Tuesday at midnight so I have to really get my heiney in gear now and maniaclly type these into the google drive shared account that we use now. This is great because normally at about this time I would be vying for a spot on the single shared computer we would normally put these into. And since it is 9:00 pm now I would be up at the school cramped into the library corner with my knees all akimbo over the printer and my back twisted into a painful, constant spasm. The exhaustion and desperation would have me in tears and I would be thinking of all the things I have to do and can’t. I know I have mentioned this before but it is a worthwhiley (where is spell check, I can’t believe that didn’t get underlined) opponent. Just knowing that I would be able to enter the reports with my ipad in my living room in my warm plaid jammies with an old movie on for background noise if I soo choose, has been incredibly freeing.
Many times The Babe has fallen asleep on a pillow on my classroom floor, neglected and lonely. Know what she did tonight? Made pizza. That’s right, she has helped me so many times that all I had to do was get her set up, heat up the oven and put the pizza’s in the oven. She was proud of herself and I was too. It was very helpful to be able to keep working.
Last night I took enough time off to go to The Keg with Chuck for his belated birthday supper. I had a Conundrum. I asked them for a sweet, fruity wine and the waiter said their sweetest was Conundrum. I knew it would be a good match when I heard the name. I have found my favorite wine. Not that I have wine very often but this wine is at the top of my taste buds list, right up there with eggnog, dark chocolate and pomegranites. Chuck didn’t finish his glass of some other wine because it started going to his head quickly. I wasn’t driving though so I finished mine. I wished that I had not. I would normally have a smaller portion of wine and I was a little more buzzy than I am comfortable with. It was yummy though. The steak too. We are going again next weekend for my belated birthday meal. Whether or not I will drink the wine is well….a conundrum. I don’t suppose they have tiny to go bottles. Oh! That is what they would call an open container. Never mind. Any way, I expected a headache this morning while writing reports and there wasn’t one. Can’t tell you how grateful I was for that.
I asked Chuck a little bit ago if, other than the workbooks all over the floor, it has seemed like progress report week to him this weekend. It hadn’t. I wish someone would write a progress report for me. We just passed a milestone.
I had a possibly eventful week last week with a student. I don’t know how much I will tell of him here, maybe more later. I had a long talk with him Wednesday and Thursday morning he was still to upset to get out of bed and come to school. His hand written progress report was three legal pad pages long. I hope he shows up for school tomorrow. We have unfinished business to attend to.
I hope I have sufficiently entertained the troops for a minute. Evidently CommonSenseChristian is very difficult to bore, I need a video of a snoring man to post just for him, he he. I don’t suppose I had better capture Chuck that way. Although….hmmm.

In Sandy soil I plant this seed, If even only I do heed.
In death is life; won’t be denied, grown by tears of sorrow cried.
The truth is harsh, the babes are dead, I’ll hold mine closer in their stead.
It’s all I have and know to do. I don’t admit those lives are through.
I will not waste this plot of land, it will not wither ‘neath my hand.
Come here my Love, look in my eyes,
Do you know how dear you are to me….?
I’ll bet there are thousands of snorers on YouTube. Yay for getting the reports done! And for Babe being old enough to fix dinner!

Hello. I’ve am old-timer here on OD but have been away for some time. Just found you through an interest search. I see you are divorced (as am I) and are rebuilding your life (as did I). What kind of classes are you taking? I like the nicknames for your children. 🙂

I’m not sure if I’m confident enough to regular progress reports from my hubby or daughter, honestly. Scary thought that actually embarrasses me. I didn’t think I’m really a perfectionist but there’s something…
