Pointfest…Scumfest
Linda and I went to a multi-band rock concert yesterday called Pointfest. I loved the music, but I hated the people.
Pointfest was an all day affair. However, Linda can’t stay in one place for more than 5 minutes, so we opted to go later in the night when the headliners would be playing on the main stage. I got to see Papa Roach and Seether, so that made me very happy as I sang along with them and rocked out.
However, seeing most of the concert goers there caused me to lose my faith in my fellow man/woman just a little bit. By the time that we got there, most people had been there for hours drinking, and there were way to many testosterone laden intoxicated 20-something guys looking to start fights. I had stuff thrown at me, stuff yelled at me and two guys half my age tried to start fights with me. Though I love the music, I won’t be going back to Pointfest again.
Also, the shear number of serious overweight girls in very skimpy clothing was disheartening at best, and downright nauseating at worst. Some of the guys there were just as bad. If they weren’t overly thin and shirtless to show off their colorful array of prison tattoos, they were about 80 lbs overweight, equally shirtless and sporting the always classy buttcrack disease spilling out of the back of their already cramped waistband. "Just focus on the music, Eric. You can do it. NO! Don’t look around! MY GOD!"
Heh. Last concert I went to was Disturbed, on guavaween in tampa. 13 lucky stitches later, after being dropped on my head due to an impromptu mosh pit, I’m done. That was 10 years ago-ish

That basically sums-up the fest in my town every summer. It’s just gross. Seriously. How to people (women) let themselves go like that?!!! And the idiotic behavior! I mean, at least I am civilized and fun when I’m drunk. 🙂

Seether is awsome in concert. Yeah, that’s why we don’t the fests here either. I can’t remember being like that at concerts or Matt being like that either 20 so years ago.
