New Car and…well…not much else. lol *w/recipe

I’m a little late with this, but my wife got a new car last week Monday. It’s a 2009 red Cobalt. It’s a nice car that’s super easy to drive (I test drove it). It’s got a really nice console heads up display (HUD) that digitally displays a LOT of information about the car, including stuff like tire pressure, oil change percentage monitoring and more. The HUD is my favorite part of the car! I wish mine showed that much info! But the good new is that I got MY car back, and that’s a good thing. Too much togetherness is NOT good for our marriage! lol

I have an ingrown toenail kind of thing on my left foot’s big toe. Its friggin’ painful! I tried to dig that sucker out of there, but "something" is still jabbing me where my toenail is. GRR!

I slow cooked/braised a beef roast last night for the first time. I let it cook at a very low heat in the oven for nearly 4 hours. When I checked it it was practically falling apart! That’s a good thing. Its going to be my dinner tonight, and I can’t wait to see how it tastes. The garlic sure did make the house smell really good while it was cooking last night. Never spare the garlic!

Edit: The following was my reply to Tigressa when she requested my beef roast "recipe", such as it is. lol ….

"RYN: The beef roast was delicious! I really don’t have a "recipe" per-say(sp?). It was more like "Hey, lets see what happens when I do this!" lol

What I did was spread my "special" spice rub on both sides the beef roast after using a bladed tenderizer and let that set up in the frig for 2 days (I didn’t mean to wait that long, it just worked out that way lol). I then put a little olive oil into a deep pan that could be covered and put in the oven after searing the beef roast on top of the stove. After searing it for 3-5 minutes on each side, I removed the beef roast pan and put into the pan two boxes of beef broth, several dashes of Worcestershire sauce (love that stuff), cut up red unions, honey, hot sauce, salt and pepper and stirred well. After that, I put the roast back into the pan and put it into the oven at 250 degrees to slooooooow cook it. Every hour I took the pan out and flipped over the roast with tongs before putting it back into the oven. I knew that it was done when it started to fall apart while turning it over on the 3.5-ish hour. :)"

You can do it in a crock pot all day and it taste very good also. That way it is waiting for you when you get home.

I’m definitely a garlic fan. I’d love to see a pic of the HUD! These things are a marvel to pedestrians like myself. I hope you don’t need surgery for your toe. I knew someone who let theirs get so bad they whole toenail had to be removed…yikes. :/

The cobalt gets really good gas mileage, too. Boyfriend has a scangauge which is like the HUD on steroids. Pretty fun. If your toenail gets swollen, or just to heal it faster, soak it in salt water (regular salt is OK) or epsom salt. Really makes a huge difference.

Oooh, that does sound really good. I never thought I’d say this to you, but…flip me the recipe? CONGRATS on the new wheels.

ryn: man that sounds absolutely delicious! The best recipes are experiments.

RY: I played it for him on our way to camp trip. And told him the stoy=ry. He was so excited je had to tell everybody all weekend that we would run in to. My gig to play it in Topeka fell thru but I’m still writing bassline and doing video for it
