the unreachable stars

Remember to smile when it seems like you can’t and help others smile when they’ve forgotten how. Laugh when all you feel like doing is crying. Laugh until you cry.

When your parents said, “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all,” they had a good point. When your parents asked you to pick up after yourself, they weren’t really asking so much. When your parents pushed you to do more than you thought you could, it was because they wanted you to know that someone in this world believed in you (and someone, somewhere always does).

Love and logic are two separate things: one is of the heart and the other is of the brain. There is truth in each, but when the two agree there is clarity and reality that is otherwise unachievable. When you find something or someone that your mind and your heart agree on, you’ve found something worth holding on to.

Live every day like it’s your last: you never know when it might be. Treat others like you want to be treated: they’ll be more likely to treat you the same. Dance like nobody is watching. Love like your heart is never going to break.

Smile at everyone you pass; most people will smile back. The people who don’t smile back are the people who need you to smile the most. Some people don’t know how to see the sunshine and someone needs to show them how to look for it.

If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got. Instead of complaining about how things are, do what you can to change them or stop complaining. Every change started with someone and there’s no reason you can’t be a catalyst.

There are things that can be said through the arts that cannot be conveyed as well through words. Interpretation of the arts is more diverse, though, so sometimes we must settle for a less-than-perfect conveyance of our ideas, knowing that the words are imperfect. Sometimes the greatest truths are found in those imperfections.

There are miracles all around us. They’re in the little things and they’re in the big picture and if we let ourselves see them, we start seeing them in everything. God had hidden Himself away in whispers and spring flowers; there is proof of Him if we choose to see it. Everything is a matter of perspective.

Everyone should take time out of every day for “Me Time.” Everyone should have someone they can talk to about everything. Everyone should be who they want to be, because no one else is going to be that person for them.

When I have a bad day, I take a hot bubble bath with my favorite music turned up loud. I let myself eat all the chocolate I want, drink a Dr. Pepper, and curl up under the blankets with a good book. Everyone should have a way to feel better and everyone should allow themselves to indulge every now and then.

I believe that everyone should believe in love, that we should all smile more often, and that life isn’t so bad if we let ourselves believe in the good things.

i very much enjoyed the paragraph about art and conveying it’s meaning. but i do not agree with the love like hearts never break. although i do believe like yourself that we all need to believe in love, i think to many people have miserable lives because they allow themselves to fall for an idea of love and be in love too quickly. i didn’t mean to put a damper on your wonderful ideas…

you’re so wise, you’re like buddha! i agree with the first noter also. too many people throw themselves into “love”, so desperate to have it that they convince themselves what they have is love. but then i do agree that once ur in love, LOVE i loved this though. so simple yet pure and true. <3
