Wrong

Okay, so I just spent three hours writing the opening scene to this short story to realize that it is completely historically inaccurate to set it where I have set it. Grr…

This is my first attempt at writing a piece set in a particular era of history, and it’s kicking my ass. I’ve been researching for weeks, and even so I’m still not getting anywhere. Usually I write things set in my own worlds. This is SOO much easier. If I get stuck, I just make stuff up. Writing something where I have to hunt down facts (which are often contradictory) really is annoying.

I’ve been wracking my brain to think of how I can make an alternate universe short story out of my ideas, but I really think I’m stuck going the historical route. To my ever increasing headache…

And it was so pretty.
