For Auld Lang Syne: Happy 2008!

At this moment, 2008 spans out before us in a radiant ribbon of potential.  And looking out at the next 365 days, I am reminded of the fantastic opportunity that every moment presents, to recreate ourselves and our destiny, to chart a path of our choosing, to take those first steps, and to become as great as we can imagine (with all the necessary humbleness that keeps us from becoming jerks, of course).
 
According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auld_Lang_Syne), Auld Lang Syne (long ago) can be translated as "Once Upon A Time", which, as we all know, is the beginning of an exciting story.  So here’s to a new us in this new year, the exciting story we are weaving as our lives, and here’s to everything we can achieve and to everything we are.

We’ll tak a cup of kindness yet,
