I month or two ago I had a very odd dream. I kept meaning to post it, but I haven’t until now.

I had a dream about someone. It was in a study, there was another girl, but I didn’t know who it was. There were books, a sort of glass lamp, a pipe… In the dream he tried to convince me it was a dream, and told me that I would know it was if I picked up one of the books in the room and tried to read it because the letters and words wouldn’t really be legible. After I realized it was indeed a dream and I almost woke up he told me to try to stay asleep. I asked him, "So, this is a dream, but is this in my head? Or are you really talking to me." He said something from Harry Potter, along the lines of just because it’s in my head doesn’t mean it isn’t real. He talked to me for a bit and took out a pendulum and told me to ask questions and told me that it waving in certain ways meant certain answers

That’s a very brief summary of the dream. It was very peculiar. I’ve been able to have lucid dreams before but I’ve never had a character in a dream convince me of it. What’s even weirder is that when I told Casey about the dream the next day she said she had a similar one. She says she dreamed of some girl wearing a white, lace shirt talking to that guy, but she couldn’t really hear what they were saying. It was in the same kind of room. She heard whispers, and looked in the same kind of book that I did. (A leather journal, really).

Now, I don’t know if she made it up to fit my dream, but she gave some details that I didn’t tell her about that fit my dream, like the room and the book, and a flower that was in it. Rocky thinks she may have just tried to match it with mine and I may have subconsciously thought "Hey, that did happen in mine too", when it didn’t actually. I guess there’s no other real explanation. Because why would we both dream about that guy the same night with the same details, but from our perspectives? Besides, if that kind of thing were possible, why wouldn’t said guy just talk to us instead of contacting us in dreams? This is real life, not a movie. That kind of stuff can’t happen, can it? But it’s interesting to think about. I kind of wish that stuff could happen.

Maybe this could be used as material for a short story. Hm.

I don’t see why either explanation has any more merit than the other. One is more ordinary and ‘comfortable’ maybe…but where’s the fun in that? It sounds like a cool dream.
