Time.
I’m taking a brief moment, mostly due to the fact that the family christmas party is largely overwith, and that i somehow managed to open all my presents without shaking my head in total disbelief.
For the first time in my life i received what i can only call IOU presents: which comprises of something of the following: "i don’t know what X is exactly, so i figured i’d just take you out to the store, and let you pick out X, so i don’t get the wrong thing."
Heres a hint, buy the wrong thing; i wont get angry, i promise, in fact, i’ll giggle a bit (perhaps) about how much you don’t know me sometimes, but i will appreciate the gesture. Honestlytrulydeeply i will.
Its been crossing my mind over and over just how much life has changed post…22 or so. (maybe 23…somewhere around there). Time just goes so much faster, (and ridiculously faster than when i was a teenager). I remember when the christmas party seemed to last forever; now, i felt like i blinked and it was over. Same goes with gaming; i remember when playing 4 hours of Final fantasy (i wont embarrass myself by putting the appropriate number of the game) was a "long time"…now, if im not careful, i”ll play warcraft and won’t have time to sleep before class. Its just an amazing thing, aging, growing, or whatever you want to call it.
-There are a few fresh faces at the christmas parties now; a few of my cousins are married, (all of whom are younger than me) engaged, or gregarious enough to bring over their toys for everyone to see. For a while, i was the the only one who did that, but after pretty much bringing a different girl every year (and getting scolded by the family..mostly due to "i don’t remember their names") i’ve stopped doing that. I suppose thats a good thing, though i have to say, everyone should experience E’s family’s christmas at least once. seriously, its like how christmas was meant to be.
I’m glad to be home, to see everyone, and even to receive a few presents. My mother, in the same breath asked "what is an iPod" and "how she can start her own internet company."
My uncle asked me the difference between being incorporated and a "limited liability corporation."…wow, taking corporations last semester actually paid off, and i answered his questions and the family realized E really is going to be a lawyer.
Its so exciting. Only a few more months!
Ah, PA, how i miss you. Ah, home. It doesn’t matter how nice St. Louis, France, or England is, i could never live there. I need family, i need memories, and nostalgia, and PA has it all. Add in, a "picturesque" christmas, the black lake in Black Moshannon National park, Penn State, and practically limitless trees….and i am truly happy.
Now, just give me a dashing blonde, minus-the-selfish-bitchiness, who loves gothic looking boys, doesn’t mind video games, and has an ambition to match mine. (yeah, i dont ask for much)
C’mon Santa, you can do it, i know you can. I’ve seen you work real magic. I’ve seen you exist.
Oodles o’ love,
Erotique
Just stopped by randomly and read your entry. Merry Christmas.
